Deep-frying turkey on Thanksgiving Day has become increasingly popular in many households. Unfortunately, more grease fires occur on this holiday, than on any other day of the year.

According to State Farm Insurance, Texas ranked #1 for having the most cooking related fire accidents on Thanksgiving Day, from 2005-2009. Since turkey frying has become a delicious alternative to traditional baked turkey on Thanksgiving, U.S. fire departments across the nation, are putting out an average of more than 1,000 fires each year, involving deep fryers.
